Step up for your library!Since the start of the pandemic, there has been a misperception that libraries have been closed. To help counter that perception, we are asking our patrons to help us tell the story of how libraries have adapted to provide services during this challenging time.
Even when libraries were closed for general browsing, they were helping communities stay connected with access to materials through curbside deliveries, expanded virtual programs, digital collections and so much more. By sharing your experiences with state legislators and local officials, and asking them to "Step Up for Their Library," you can help get the word out that your library has been stepping up for you. Will you please step up for your local library? This is all you need to do: |
- Request a postcard from your local library.
- Write a personal message and mail it to your elected official(s) - Click Here for their Contact Information.
- Write a few sentences on the back of the postcard, about why your thankful for your library - and don't forget your name, address and home library name! Not sure what to write? Try something like "I'm thankful for my library because..." or "The library helped me in 2021 by..." are good starters.
- Mail the postcard to your elected official(s).
Thank you!
