Nicolet Federated Library System (NFLS) would like to welcome Kristie Hauer as its Assistant System Director.

Kristie has been dedicated to the world of libraries since 1999. Although she hadn't initially planned on becoming a librarian, her high school job at Blockbuster, where she alphabetized VHS tapes and offered "viewers' advisory" services, hinted at her future path. Kristie began her career in elementary school libraries before transitioning to public libraries. Her extensive experience spans various roles, including library assistant, children's department supervisor, branch manager, director, and consultant. In 2004, she earned her Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

In addition to her professional roles, Kristie has taught library science courses at Louisiana State University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has also mentored numerous librarians through the Wisconsin Library Association, Wisconsin Valley Library Service, and NFLS. In her free time, Kristie enjoys reading, taking walks, and has an unabashed passion for everything Bon Jovi.
