Here’s how it works:
From Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend, the InfoSoup Library Road Trip offers a fantastic opportunity to discover new communities, learn about local history and culture, and connect with fellow library enthusiasts. So, dust off your map, fuel up the car, and get ready to hit the road with the InfoSoup Library Road Trip! Don’t forget to share your Road Trip adventures on social media using #LibraryRoadTrip. As part of today’s Earth Day commemorations, the Wisconsin Water Library at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Wisconsin Library Association announced the books selected for a basin-wide shared-reading experience, Great Lakes, Great Read.
The Water Walker by Joanne Robertson is the children’s selection and the adult selection is The Best Part of Us by Sally Cole-Misch. Following are new continuing education opportunities from NEWI. Formed under a partnership with the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, Brown County Library, Nicolet Federated Library System, and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, JobPod enables community members to access a full range of job services through their public library by merging community library spaces with the expertise of workforce development professionals. Formed under a partnership with the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, Brown County Library, Nicolet Federated Library System, and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, JobPod enables community members to access a full range of job services through their public library. Serving as a pilot location, Brown County Library-East Branch is the first JobPod access point for job seekers in our area. A groundbreaking approach, JobPod ensures employment seekers will have reliable and consistent access to resources for employment training and development, job search assistance, and well-matched employment opportunities. Just by visiting their local library, community members will gain access to workforce development experts via a virtual connection. JobPod breaks down barriers such as transportation and internet availability, clearing the way for job seekers to connect with job search services frequently and with confidence. Job seekers visiting the Brown County Library-East Branch’s JobPod will experience the library as a dependable bridge between the job seeker, job search experts, and employers.
