Patrons enjoying new tables and chairs at Florence County Library
The Florence County Library was able to purchase five new tables and chairs thanks to a grant from the Nicolet Federated Library System’s 2019 Library Improvement & Innovation Grant, which funds programs in the areas of workforce development, lifelong learning, and/or technology.

The tables and chairs are in the main area of the library and look great!  The library's work force development person,  Zana, is even in one of the photos (left). Public patrons, students and a wide range of other folks also utilize them.  They are on locking wheels so we are able  to easily move them for different presentations and author talks.

Check out what other NFLS libraries have purchased with their grants here.

The S. Verna Fowler Academic/Menominee Public Library is pleased to announce the creation of an interactive language mural as the newest addition to the Youth area of the Library.  Patrons can enjoy the beautiful artwork and at the same time learn Menominee words and phrases played on devices posted on the mural.

The American Indian Library Association and the Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association launched a Family Literacy Focus project in 2009 called Talk Story: Sharing Stories, Sharing Culture. Talk Story is a library literacy model that reaches out to Asian/Pacific American (APA) and Native American/Alaska Native children and families. It promotes basic and cultural literacy in pre-readers and early readers by engaging children and their families in storytime, storytelling, books, art, music, dance, and other cultural activities.

The items for the Makerspace were purchased thanks to a grant from the Nicolet Federated Library System’s 2019 Library Improvement & Innovation Grant, which funds programs in the areas of workforce development, lifelong learning, and/or technology.
