![]() The Suring Are Public Library, with the help of a Library Improvement and Innovation Grant from the Nicolet Federated Library System, purchased wifi hotspots for its patrons to check out. The hotspots are always being checked out and patrons like that they are now able to get wifi at home. Library Director Jill Trocha said "We have patrons that will check them out every week." The hotspots have been a huge success and the library has gotten positive feedback on how well they work.

The Fund provides technology education resources, scholarships, and assistive technology devices to rural students. Their mission also includes supporting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) extracurricular programs. The RTF supports rural communities that may have fewer opportunities for exposure to technology and funds projects in public schools and libraries. Gillett Public Library Director Shannon Stoner said the library will utilize the funds to support the library’s “Full STEAM Ahead” program for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Presented by Jamie Matczak, CE Consultant at WI Valley Library System April 9, 2021 ![]() Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Library is among 141 Wisconsin libraries and school districts who will receive nearly $3 million in 2021 TEchnology for Educational ACHievement (TEACH) Information Technology Infrastructure grants. “It is critically important that Wisconsinites across the state have access to high-quality educational resources,” said Department of Administration (DOA) Secretary Joel Brennan. “Many rural libraries and schools often do not have the funds available to invest in their technology infrastructures to ensure that accessibility and the opportunities that come with it.” Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Library will receive $210 in TEACH funds. “The Sister Bay/Liberty Grove branch has a beautiful outdoor garden space where many activities take place during good weather,” said branch manager Christina Johnson. “The new access point provided with TEACH grant will make it possible to have good quality internet which is so important to daily life.
