Following is a message from the National Summer Learning Association: We are inching closer to the vernal equinox, which begins March 20, 2020. The coming of Spring means Summer is not a distance dream. NSLA is currently putting together content for programs and families to use during National Summer Learning Week, July 6-11, 2020. National Summer Learning Week is a celebration dedicated to elevating the importance of keeping kids learning, safe, and healthy every summer, ensuring they return to school in the fall ready to succeed in the year.
With planning and recruitment for summer programs underway, now is a great time to enter information about your program into our Event Tracker. This year we'd like to see all 50 states represented. Smarter summers create brighter futures for children and youth. Summer programs offer healthy food and safe places to play, learn, and grow; rich community resources and access to boundless opportunities. Currently, we have eight states and 29 events, serving a total of 7,821 youth, represented in the Summer Learning Week Event Tracker. With your entries, we can continue to show the amazing impact summer learning opportunities have on youth, their families, and communities across the country. Visit: https://www.summerlearning.org/summer-learning-day-events/ and start entering your programs and events now to make sure you're represented on our list of summer programs even if your event doesn't take place during Summer Learning Week.
