“Miracle of Green Bay” Celebrates a Team’s Unique Story In celebration of the nationally recognized football event occurring this spring in Green Bay, Brown County Library is excited to unveil a series of large-scale banners that pay tribute to the rich history of the Green Bay Packers and the organization’s early days. The banner art installation entitled “Miracle of Green Bay” will be celebrated with a reveal event and reception taking place at Brown County Central Library, 515 Pine St on Saturday, April 19 at 9:15 am. Join the County Executive, 'Vince Lombardi', and members of the Packerettes, Sideliners, and Golden Girls cheer squads as they celebrate and reveal images of the banners. Learn more about "The Miracle of Green Bay" when staff from the library's Local History Department share the story behind each of these historic photos. A visual celebration of the Packers local legacy and its deep ties to the downtown area, each piece in the banner series has been designed to capture the passion, triumph, and spirit that have defined the team and its loyal fans for generations. This art installation will be put in place in late-spring, and display sites include the Central Library, Northern Building, and Brown County Courthouse lawn. In conjunction with the “Miracle of Green Bay” banners, the Brown County Library Local History Department has created miracleofgreenbay.org , which will be available in full in April. This web-based collection of images and text will complement each banner, offering more information about the team’s history and its ties to downtown Green Bay. The public can engage with the project by sharing their thoughts and favorite football memories on social media using the hashtag #miracleofgreenbay. To continue the football cheer, immediately following the banner reveal and reception, Brown County Central Library will hold Football Fan-O-Rama, Saturday, April 19, 10 am – 1 pm. This family-friendly free event will celebrate professional football’s past and present in local and American culture, and will include a Vince Lombardi impersonator, a tournament featuring Madden NFL, in partnership with Edge VR, a presentation from a former NFL Scout, and a variety of activities for all ages. This tournament is not affiliated with or sponsored by Electronic Arts Inc.
