Homework Hotspot Labs
Many communities need additional opportunities to connect to the internet. NFLS and OWLS used grant funding to create the Homework Hotspot Labs to provide communities with limited connectivity such an opportunity. Specifically, the Labs will give students the access they need to complete schoolwork and connect with teachers and classmates.
Any library in the NFLS and OWLS systems can borrow a Lab for library programs offered to their patrons. The Library can set up the Lab in a parking lot, park or other public venue. The library can use the cell signal booster to enhance the local signal, allowing community members to connect to the internet using their own devices. Hotspots and Chromebooks are also available for checkout for those patrons without a personal device.

Scheduling
There must be a two (2) week break between reservations for a Lab. This is due to the time needed to sanitize, quarantine and transport the Lab throughout the NFLS and OWLS systems.
Set up and familiarity with the signal booster may take some time. It is advised that you request that the Lab arrive at your library at least two (2) days before your scheduled program to allow you time to familiarize yourself with the booster.

Please check availability on the Homework Hot Spots calendar before submitting your request.
