Libraries are very skilled at providing excellent customer service to their patrons. But when it comes to how we treat our coworkers, we sometimes forget that they are our customers, too. Krista Ross, director of the Southwest Wisconsin Library System, will provide tips on how to resolve conflict, improve listening skills and build a culture of respect in the library.

Poverty Awareness Through Library Engagement

This in-person workshop will focus on rural poverty that is custom-designed for library directors and staff. Poverty Awareness for Community Engagement (PACE) presentations by a UW-Extension agent will provide key lessons regarding poverty challenges and class awareness. A former UW-EX agent and PACE trainer who now directs the public library in Three Lakes will serve as a bridge between PACE concepts and the library environment. 2.5 CE Credits
