Online Puppetry Workshops for Summer Reading Programs

4/21/2020

As libraries consider what sort of summer programming they might offer their home-bound patrons, some have reached out to me seeking online performing arts content. To help meet this need, I have transformed three of my best workshops into self-paced online experiences focused on three topics:
  • The Science of Shadow Puppets,
  • Poetry-writing, and
  • Shadow Puppet Creation.
Each workshop features a fun mix of shadow skits, artist guidance, and simple at-home activities presented in brief, readily accessible videos that children can easily navigate. These workshops are appropriate for children aged 7-11, but may also be enjoyed by younger children who are assisted by an adult. The total length of each workshop is approximately 30 minutes.

I am also able to host live webinars of artist talk-backs, performances, and extended activities for up to 100 participants at a time. If you think this might meet your libraries needs at this time, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Best Wishes and Stay Well,
Matt
