Interlibrary Loan (ILL) & Delivery
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Nicolet Federated Library System and the OWLS member libraries borrow materials directly from each other and from the libraries that belong to OWLSnet. If an item is not available in the area, the librarian can ask system staff to borrow the material from other libraries throughout Wisconsin and beyond. Materials located through interlibrary loan are sent directly to the local system for the patron’s use.

Delivery
Nicolet Federated Library System and OWLSnet Deliveries
Through an agreement between the NFLS and the OWLSnet Libraries, the public and academic libraries of WI, MN, ND & SD are all connected via the following Delivery Networks: SCLS (South Central Library System) and Minitex. (MN, ND, & SD)
OWLS’ delivery program is committed to putting desired materials in the hands of library patrons as quickly as possible. To achieve that goal, the system engages in several different activities. OWLS contracts with Waltco, Inc. to deliver materials to all member libraries five times per week. The system also exchanges materials daily with the Nicolet Federated Library System in Green Bay in order to facilitate borrowing among the members of OWLSnet. In addition, OWLS participates in an intersystem delivery service that facilitates sharing materials throughout the state; this service picks up and delivers materials at OWLS five times a week. The system also mails materials to libraries not served by any of the above services.

- Align cover tabs with container slots, then push cover inward to make sure they connect.
- Gently lower the other end of the cover until closed.
- Insert the tub tag inside the tub’s clear pouch.
- On the other end, make sure the cover and tub holes line up. Insert the zip tie through both holes, then fasten.
- The cover should be secure enough so it stays closed while the tub is moved around.
- With the tool provided, cut and remove the zip tie. You may now open the cover and remove materials.
- Contact NFLS or OWLS delivery contacts with questions.
