Last week's blog posts were heavy on great Summer Learning Program resources including offline programming ideas, updates from CSLP on programming for summer during COVID-19; an announcement of a webinar coming this Friday on serving Tweens and Teens; fair use and patron privacy for virtual programming and free COVID-19 ebooks for kids.
![]() CSLP put together a set of modified summer library program materials for service during the time of COVID-19. Below you will find instructions for how to access the additional resources (PDF download from CSLP, or editable docs using CSLP login). Beneath the instructions, you will also find a letter from CSLP about these materials. How to Access: Online access will be made available at https://www.cslpreads.org/. A PDF version will be located on the front page of the website for easy printing and download capabilities (a red rectangular button—the large PDF downloads as soon as you click it). For a more editable version CSLP members are encouraged to sign into their CSLP account and access content from the online manuals.

From WI Libraries for Everyone: Thursday, April 23, 2020
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Division for Libraries and Technology is supporting libraries and library users by launching a new statewide online reading challenge platform and mobile app to support summer library programming in 2020 and beyond. The Division will award a discretionary grant for nearly $327,000 to the Wisconsin Valley Library Service to contract with Beanstack on behalf of Wisconsin public libraries. Over the course of three years, this statewide procurement will save over $761,000 when compared to local libraries procuring this service individually. The contract will run through 2023. Registration is now open for the webinar Summer Food Service and Public Libraries webinar. Webinar Information: When: Friday, March 6, 2020 Time: 1:00 - 2:00 pm Where: your computer. The program will be recorded and archived Speakers: Amy Kolano, Summer Food Service Coordinator, Dept. of Public Instruction and regional public library staff Program description: The Summer Food Service Program provides free meals to low-income children during school vacations. More than 26 million children eat school lunch every day when school is in session, and about half of them receive their meals free or at a reduced price due to low household income. But what happens during the summer months? The Summer Food Service Program offers those children nutritious food when school is not in session. During Summer 2018, Wisconsin served 2.9 million meals at 965 sites operated by 240 sponsoring organizations, including public libraries. This webinar will provide information about Wisconsin’s program and will share ideas about ways that public libraries in the state have partnered with local agencies to become host sites for the summer program. Join us and as we hear from Summer Food Service coordinator, Amy Kolano, and public library staff about ways that libraries have successfully hosted the Summer Food Program in their communities.
