Find pre-written posts, ready-to-go graphics, Adventure Begins at Your Library brand guidelines and customizable Canva templates! This toolkit is for CSLP member libraries only. Use this 2024 Summer Library Program Marketing Toolkit for variety of templates for flyers, monthly calendars, activity trackers, and a promotional video.
Each template is fully customizable so you can tweak it with your program details and branding. NFLS member libraries may contact Lori Baumgart if they need help with any of these templates. Brown County Library's East Branch Library, at 2253 Main Street in Green Bay, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to launch the JobPod pilot site on Wednesday, March 20th.
Formed under a partnership with the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, Brown County Library, Nicolet Federated Library System, and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, JobPod enables community members to access a full range of job services through their public library by merging community library spaces with the expertise of workforce development professionals. We will also keep you posted about future JobPod workspaces that will be popping up at other libraries within the Nicolet Federated Library System. OverDrive’s web certificate provider, Let's Encrypt, is discontinuing support for Android operating systems (OS) 7.1.0 and earlier. Let’s Encrypt certificates are used to secure connections on many websites and apps, including those from OverDrive.
With this update, beginning April 15, 2024, Android 7.1.1 will be the earliest supported Android OS for all OverDrive apps and websites, including Libby and Kanopy. $20,000 grant will help the library work with residents with disabilities to better access library facilities Kewaunee Public Library has been selected as one of 310 libraries to participate in round two of Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities, an American Library Association (ALA) initiative that provides community engagement and accessibility resources to small and rural libraries to help them better serve people with disabilities.
The competitive award comes with a $20,000 grant that will help the library improve accessibility to their building through improved automatic front doors and updates to their bathroom facilities. “We are so proud to be chosen for this amazing opportunity,” said Library Director Carol Petrina. “This grant will allow our library to better serve our residents with disabilities. It will make our building easier to access and ensure this population feels welcome and comfortable in our space.” As part of the grant, Kewaunee Public Library staff will take an online course in how to lead conversations, a skill vital to library work today. Staff will then host a community conversation with residents about what makes a building aging and disability friendly and use the grant funds to create a more welcoming building that is easier to access and use. In working with the Kewaunee County Aging-Friendly coalition, the library identified the connection between quality of life and the need for accessible spaces. Subscribe to Newsletters from NFLS  A newly installed OAK (Overdose Aid Kit) Box is available in the lobby of the Oconto Falls Community Library during library open hours. The OAK Box is available to the public and is unlocked at all times. Inside are doses of Narcan, emergency instructions (English and Spanish), CPR face shields, safe med disposal powder, fentanyl testing kits, and recovery information.
Library Director Rachel Pascoe said, "There are no cameras in the library's lobby so anyone can help themselves to needed supplies discreetly." The library staff has had training in Narcan use and how to spot an overdose. "We hope we won't need to utilize that training here at the library, but we are prepared to help, just in case." Library staff hopes community members will keep the OAK Box in mind, and use its resources to reduce harm that can occur from opioid use. "Thank you Oconto Falls Public Library for being a change maker and for supporting harm reduction in your community. Subscribe to Newsletters from NFLS Brown County East Branch Library, 2253 Main Street, Green Bay, will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to launch the JobPod pilot site on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. JobPod facilitates easy and reliable access to job search resources for employment seekers by merging community library spaces with the expertise of workforce development professionals.
Formed under a partnership with the Bay Area Workforce Development Board, Brown County Library, Nicolet Federated Library System, and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, JobPod enables community members to access a full range of job services through their public library. Serving as a pilot location, Brown County Library-East Branch is the first JobPod access point for job seekers in our area. A groundbreaking approach, JobPod ensures employment seekers will have reliable and consistent access to resources for employment training and development, job search assistance, and well-matched employment opportunities. Just by visiting their local library, community members will gain access to workforce development experts via a virtual connection. JobPod breaks down barriers such as transportation and internet availability, clearing the way for job seekers to connect with job search services frequently and with confidence. Job seekers visiting the Brown County Library-East Branch’s JobPod will experience the library as a dependable bridge between the job seeker, job search experts, and employers.  Quadzilla Finds His Footing - written by AJ Dillon and Illustrated by Summer Morrison
​UScellular also donated 350 copies of AJ Dillon's book Quadzilla Finds His Footing, which came with a personalized note from Dillon. The trick was getting these books distributed to libraries throughout Wisconsin - and Nicolet Federated Library System (NFLS) was happy to help out.
​​When UScellular's sports marketing agency asked about also hosting virtual book readings with Dillon in conjunction with the donations, NFLS' Director Tracy Vreeke connected them with Brown County Library's director, Sarah Sugden. "She is dynamic and a huge literacy supporter in the Green Bay area," Tracy noted.
Brown County Library's March 1 Facebook post, said "In Green Bay, football and books go together like peanut butter and jelly! Not only is AJ Dillon a professional football player, he's also an author, and a supporter of libraries and young readers! We are so grateful to AJ Dillon and UScellular for making this virtual reading happen. Bonus: AJ Dillon answers a few questions from Librarian Katie Guzek after he reads his book."

Brown County Library and the Green Bay Packers are part of the NFLS service area of northeast Wisconsin. This also includes Door County, where AJ Dillon was given the Key to the County in November 2021. Coach LaFleur now calls him the Mayor!
