New digital service offers free movies, music, eBooks, audiobooks and more Beginning Thursday, October 15, 2020, Brown County Library card holders can access hoopla, a free digital media service that offers thousands of movies from major Hollywood studios, music albums, audiobooks, eBooks, comics, and TV shows. Download the hoopla app (available in the Apple and Google Play app stores) or visit hoopladigital.com to get started. Access is with a Brown County Library card. To apply for a library card online, go to browncountylibrary.org/apply or visit any library location in person. Hoopla offers thousands of titles to browse and borrow for easy at-home or on-the-go enjoyment. Hoopla also offers a “Kids Mode,” feature that, when activated, displays family-friendly content only. Borrowed content (up to 6 items per month) is instantly available for streaming or temporary download on devices including iOS, Android, Roku, Alexa and personal computers. An introduction to hoopla video can be viewed on the library’s YouTube channel.
The addition of hoopla to the library’s Digital Resources is another way the library is meeting the needs of an increasingly mobile community.
