Beth Tomev, Assistant Director of the Library Services Team within the Division for Libraries & Technology, will be offering an in-person Crisis Communications Plan Workshop for NEWI libraries on Friday, October 6, 2023, focused on creating and implementing a Crisis Communications Plan for your library. She presented a similar topic briefly at the WAPL conference this spring, and after receiving requests from a number of our libraries, is developing a longer and more hands-on training with specific examples and best practices for our communities.
In-person training will be available at the Hortonville Public Library. There will be two training times, morning and afternoon, with each session geared toward a library/community size:
Who Should Attend: Library staff responsible for developing communication procedures and/or communicating a crisis response to the public or internally to stakeholders. Virtual Option: A virtual "watch only" option will be available, though you are encouraged to attend in person to participate in hands-on learning and group discussion. Comments are closed.
