The following is a news release from Door County Library. Door County Library Changes Effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020
Effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020, all Door County Library branches except for Sturgeon Bay will be closed through April 6th. The Sturgeon Bay branch will be open with modified operations.
In keeping with the County of Door’s recommendations, the Sturgeon Bay branch will only allow 10 people to be in the library at any one time to discourage congregation and encourage social distancing. Patrons will be allowed to come pick up items, but may not linger in the library. Persons 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. “In an effort to limit visits to the Sturgeon Bay Library, we are putting together a plan to make materials available to individuals without entering the library,” announced Door County Library Director, Tina Kakuske. “Please call 920-743-6578 starting March 18 if you’re interested in participating in this service.” Free WiFi access will be maintained at all branches during this closure. Meeting rooms at the Sturgeon Bay Library are no longer available at this time. All library programs and events are canceled. Computers inside the library will be available in 10-minute increments to allow access to all who need it. The library wishes to remain your virtual resource, so please utilize the free library apps: Libby/Overdrive, HooplaDigital, and RBdigital which are open to all library card holders and are a great resource for books, movies, music, and tv shows. Additional information and resources are being shared on the library’s social media and website www.DoorCountyLibrary.org where you can also watch for further updates as they become available.
