Brown County Library goes virtual! The Brown County Library’s highest priority is the health and well-being of library customers, staff, and volunteers. The Library is closely monitoring the latest information and guidelines related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) provided by the Wisconsin Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). 

For the health and safety of the community, effective March 17, 2020, all Brown County library buildings are temporarily closed to the public but the library is open online!

During this time:

• Bookdrops will remain open with the exception of Denmark
• Renewal line will remain active (920-448-6263)
• Reference Services will be available by phone or email
• Due dates will be extended
• Fines and fees will be suspended
• Account services will be available
• Temporary library card applications can be submitted online
• Library programs and meeting room reservations are canceled

 
The library offers numerous online learning and entertainment opportunities (free with a library card!):

• Gale Courses – Build your business know-how, take on a hobby, or conquer a new computer skill.  Choose from over 100 courses led by expert instructors
• CreativeBug – learn how to make creative art and craft projects with instructional videos
• Axis 360 – check out digital titles of high-demand and bestselling authors
• Rosetta Stone – learn a new language
• Transparent Language – brush up on your foreign language listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
• BadgerLink – Wisconsin’s source for trustworthy content not available elsewhere, including magazines, newspapers, images, music and more
• OverDrive – downloadable eBooks and audiobooks
• RB digital – full-color digital magazines

 
Library Administration is exploring options to continue to provide the community with the best services possible. Re-assessments will be made based on further guidance from the CDC and the Public Health Officer. Future announcements will be posted on the library’s website and social media sites.
