In this session, we will explore ways we can hold patrons accountable for behaviors and still be compassionate. Brown County Library Branch Manager, Karla Giraldez, and Deputy Director, Emily Rogers will discuss tips and tricks to use before, during, and after a behavior concern to help make the library safe for all. 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM Lunch & Learn: Breaking Down §43.30 Before the Police are Breaking Down Your Library Door! Lead by Tracy Vreeke, Director of the Nicolet Federated Library System While we are enjoying our lunch, Tracy Vreeke will lead a discussion about the Public Library Request for Records Toolkit, which will help you understand just what to do when there is a court order or a law enforcement officer comes knocking. 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM Purple Angel Program Presented by Two Members of the Dementia Friendly Community Coalition Do you know someone with Alzheimer’s disease or another type of dementia? Chances are you do. There are an estimated 5.5 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease. The Purple Angel Dementia Friendly program aims to educate the community and local businesses about dementia and how to assist those with the disease. The Dementia Friendly Community Coalition supports the program in Marinette County. Businesses and public institutions in the community are eligible to become Dementia Friendly. Employees go through training sessions to learn how to offer hospitality and support to individuals with memory loss, confusion or other dementia-related symptoms. 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM Marinette County Library Staff Training: New Website / Weebly Walk-through Lori Baumgart, Marketing, Communications & CE Specialist, Nicolet Federated Library System The new website is here! Lori will walk library staff through the new site in Weebly, give a few editing pointers, and provide 1-on-1 training as needed. While this training is directly related to Marinette County Library’s website specifically, anyone who is interested in learning a little more about Weebly is more than welcome to attend.
Can’t attend? No worries! A similar training will be provided in early 2020, in the Door/Kewaunee/Brown County region.
