The Wisconsin Library Association (WLA) announced the 2023 awards and honors recipients and the Wisconsin Library Hall of Fame inductees today - which both include a Nicolet Federated Library System (NFLS) library and NFLS Board member! Brown County Library awarded 2023 Library of the YearThe Brown County Library was selected as WLA's 2023 Library of the Year in recognition of the hard work it's done in the last 18 months in service of its community and beyond. Nominators described the library as "people-focused and action-orientated, putting people at the center of all that they do." The Library of the Year Award is "presented to any type of Wisconsin library, library system or library network for distinguished achievement in service. The staff, library board or administering body, and the community or people served shall all be involved in the work for which recognition is sought." Connie Meyer inducted into Wisconsin Library Hall of FameNFLS Board member Connie Meyer was inducted into the Wisconsin Library Hall of Fame for 2023. "Connie Meyer has a fervent love of public libraries, and an unshakeable belief that they can change lives. Connie has worked tirelessly to improve and promote Wisconsin public libraries since, at age 16, she was hired as a part-time page." Connie was appointed to the NFLS Board in August 2023. The Wisconsin Library Hall of Fame is a project of the Wisconsin Library Heritage Center, which is a program of the Wisconsin Library Association Foundation. Induction into the Wisconsin Library Hall of Fame is granted to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the statewide improvement of library service in Wisconsin.
